1,000,000 Tags with Wise SCADA: Redefining the Limits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s time to rethink what \u201clarge-scale\u201d means in SCADA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this project, we built and tested a 1,000,000-tag SCADA system<\/strong> using Wise SCADA, evaluating its performance under real conditions. You can watch the entire process and results in our video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And we didn\u2019t do this on a high-end system \u2014 we ran everything on a 7-year-old laptop<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massive Scale, Realistic Scenario<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our test setup:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • 10,000 devices<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 100 tags per device<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A total of 1,000,000 active tags<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    We created a fully dynamic environment where all tag values change every second<\/strong>. For this, we used the Fulmatic SOFT simulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Under the load of 10,000 clients, the simulator handled updates in approximately 2 seconds<\/strong>.
    It\u2019s important to highlight: this limitation comes from the simulation layer \u2014 not from the SCADA system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Performance: Beyond Expectations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Even at this scale, Wise SCADA remained smooth, stable, and responsive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Key observations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Project save time:<\/strong> ~32 seconds<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Standard screen transitions:<\/strong> 1\u20133 seconds<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The slowest page:<\/strong> The page containing the Tag Monitor object, with expected slow opening, fast updates, and low CPU usage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • CPU usage:<\/strong> ~30% – phenomenal performance for a standard (7-year-old) laptop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      It\u2019s worth emphasizing:
      The Tag Monitor is an engineering tool designed to display all tags in a single view. Maintaining system stability even under this extreme load clearly demonstrates the strength of the underlying architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Conclusion: Not Just Running \u2014 Proving Its Power<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      In traditional SCADA systems, even 100,000 tags<\/strong> can be a serious challenge on such hardware. 100,000 tags would require large servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      With Wise SCADA:
