{"id":412,"date":"2013-10-08T16:49:56","date_gmt":"2013-10-08T14:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fultek.com.tr\/en\/?p=412"},"modified":"2026-04-27T13:16:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T11:16:12","slug":"redundant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fultek.com.tr\/en\/redundant\/","title":{"rendered":"Redundant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>What is WinTr Scada Redundant?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a full backed-up operation mode of two SCADA station. Server-Client mode is different than Redundant. Clients reads\/writes all or specific Tag values from the server. Client and Server communicates automation devices separetly. However redundant mode works %100 backed-up notion. Redundant partner doesn&#8217;t communicates with the PLCs while the other partner communicates. It gets all data from the other partner. If first partner disables for some reason the other one takes the communication. Thus always one station stays on line. This occurs for many other synchronized operations beside the PLC communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How to make configuration of Redundant?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First copy the scada project on two computer. Both are must be identical.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At control panel redundant settings should be made on both Computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cPartner&#8217;s ethernet settings should be made by selecting &#8220;Enable Redundant Partner&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specify &#8220;Ip Address\u201d for other partner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specify &#8220;Rem.TcpIp Port\u201d for other partner&#8217;s port number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specify &#8220;Loc.TcpIp Port\u201d for local computer&#8217;s port number. Both port number could be the same. These must be different If you are testing partners on the same computer. One port can only be used by one application on a computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specify &#8220;TimeOut (Ms)\u201d for partner communication in miliseconds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cRestart\u201d Applies Partner TcpIp settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cConnect\u201d compares partner tag list with local computer tag list. Result displayed in \u201cResult Window\u201c with detail. Result window should be completely green. Unmatched tags highlighted as red. Windows firewall&nbsp;Exceptions&nbsp;should be created for the both partners. Firewall message appears when you first select this feature. If you select &#8216;deny&#8217; firewall will block WinTr. You need to adjust yor firewall settings to allow it. (ref. image 2.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Database access can be done in two ways with &#8220;Shared Database\u201d and \u201cUse Two Disctinct Synchronize Database\u201d options. Both partners use same database with \u201cShared Database\u201d. Shared database can be hosted on another server. Database access setting should be made on SQL Server tab. In this way historical recordings &nbsp;made by one partner. If partner disabled the other partner takes over. The recordings that other than historicals made by both partner in certain way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With &#8220;Use Two Distinct Synchronize Database\u201d option Both partner records data into their databases. These databases could be located on different &nbsp;or same servers.&nbsp;Database access setting can be made on SQL Server tab. With this scenerio each partner replaces missing data from other partner&#8217;s database. For example if Partner A disables for a time it completes missing data from Partner B database after reactivated. This operation may take a while if station disabled a long time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The connection settings should be made in order to accessing the partners to each other&#8217;s database. You shoud allow SQL Server from the Windows firewall. SQL Server 2005 path: \u201cC:\\\\Program Files\\\\Microsoft SQL Server\\\\MSSQL.1\\\\MSSQL\\\\Binn\\\\sqlservr.exe\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run &#8220;Sql Server Surface Area Connection\u201d program. Click on \u201cSurface Area Configuration For Services and Connection\u201d.<br><br>Go to WINTR &#8211; Database Engine &#8211; Remote Connections &nbsp;and check \u201cLocal and Remote connections\u201d and \u201cUsing TCP\/IP only&#8221; (Ref Image 3)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run &#8220;Sql Server Configuration Manager\u201d program. Right click on SQL Server (WINTR) at right side. Run \u201cRestart\u201d function. These will make the SQL Server remote access settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Write the Database Server name of Remote partner to &#8220;Server Name\u201d field. You can connect by using &#8220;Partner Computer Name\\\\WINTR&#8221; or &#8220;Partner IP Adress\\\\WINTR&#8221; at the local network. It should be written as \u201cPartner IP address\\\\WINTR,Port No\u201d if connection made over Internet. For Internet connections ADSL port routing should be made also.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cLogin\u201d Database server user name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cPassword\u201d Database server password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cTimeout(Sec.)\u201d Timeout interval for Database connection.(in seconds)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cConnect\u201d You can use connect function for testing the parameters of database server.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cDatabase Name\u201d database name which partner scada project uses. Database names must be different If you are testing two partners on the same computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cVerify Database\u201d Exemines structure of partner and local databases. Result shown in \u201cResult Window\u201d. All rows must be green in this window. If there are red rows data or schemas could be different. All rows contains details of the data. You can find the reason of the difference by exemining these.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cSynchronize Database With Remote\u201d Completes missing data from remote database. This is the function that both partners executes when they first started. Compares first and last save dates of all tables in database. Local database completes the missing data from the remote database which older than its oldest data and new than its newest data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cGet All Data From Remote\u201d deletes all data in local database.
