GEO SCADA: Advanced Geospatial Intelligence in Industrial Automation

As industrial operations expand across vast geographical areas—such as water distribution networks, renewable energy farms, and logistics hubs—traditional static monitoring is no longer enough. GEO SCADA integrates real-time process data with geospatial mapping, providing operators with a powerful, bird’s-eye view of their entire infrastructure.

With Wise SCADA, we have redefined the GEO SCADA experience by combining high-performance mapping tools with dynamic object binding.

1. Integrated Multi-Provider Map Support

A modern GEO SCADA system must be flexible. Wise SCADA features a robust map component that supports leading providers, including:

  • ArcGIS, Bing, Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, and Yandex.
  • Offline Availability: Previously viewed locations are stored in the local cache, ensuring the map remains functional even if the internet connection is interrupted.
  • Layer Modes: Switch seamlessly between Map, Satellite, and Hybrid views depending on your operational needs.

2. Precision Interaction: Markers, Polygons, and Routes

Visualization is only useful if it is interactive. Our GEO SCADA implementation allows for deep integration between geographical coordinates and SCADA tags:

  • Markers & Lines: Place markers for remote stations or draw lines and polygons to represent pipelines, power grids, or geofenced areas.
  • Dynamic Visibility: Using tag interaction, markers and polygons can appear, disappear, or change color based on real-time alarm statuses or process values.
  • Zoom-Level Logic: You can set form elements (Buttons, TextBoxes, etc.) to only appear at specific zoom levels, preventing screen clutter while providing detailed data when needed.

3. Dynamic Control with Faceplates and Tag Binding

The true power of GEO SCADA lies in the ability to drill down from a global view to a specific device. By utilizing Faceplates (Face Screens) and Dynamic Tag Binding, Wise SCADA allows for a highly efficient workflow:

  • One Screen, Thousands of Assets: Instead of creating a unique screen for every remote site, you can design a single “Faceplate.”
  • Dynamic Binding: When an operator clicks a map marker, the system dynamically binds the relevant tags to the faceplate. This “lean and mean” approach reduces project size and development time significantly.
  • Real-time Control: Actuate valves, reset alarms, or change setpoints directly from the map interface through these dynamic pop-up windows.

4. High-Performance Navigation

Managing a map with thousands of assets requires a software architecture that doesn’t lag.

  • Tag-Driven Navigation: You can define tags for Latitude, Longitude, and Zoom. By changing these tag values via scripts or triggers, the SCADA system can automatically “fly” the view to the location of a triggered alarm.
  • Zero-Trust Security: All map interactions and external data fetches comply with modern security protocols, ensuring your geospatial data remains protected.

Conclusion: The Future of Distributed Control

GEO SCADA is more than just a map; it is a contextualized interface that brings clarity to complex, distributed systems. By leveraging the mapping and dynamic binding capabilities of Wise SCADA, you can build a system that is as intuitive as it is powerful.
